Welcome To

Great Minds Psychiatry

At Great Minds Psychiatry, we understand life is tough, and could be particularly challenging when the demands of life are coupled with mental illness. So, we exist (as a telepsychiatry service) to help reduce the stress associated with getting access to the care you deserve in order to live a more wholesome life.

We also understand everyone’s need is unique, therefore, we believe in working collaboratively with each person in order to create individualized treatment plan that is suitable to yield an optimal mental health outcome for each person.

Our board-certified provider brings to the screen expertise, empathy, and respect to treat each individual as a person. It is imperative that our patients feel safe, heard, and cared for when they come to us with their mental health issues.

Our services

Holistic Approach

Psychiatric Evaluation
During the initial visit, a board-certified psychiatric practitioner will conduct a comprehensive interview to help formulate diagnosis and create an individualized treatment plan to help the person reach their optimal well-being, which is the ultimate goal of Great Minds Psychiatry. We want to learn more about any past psychiatric diagnoses and treatments you have had and how you responded to those interventions. If you have engaged in any substance abuse or currently use substances, it is important to disclose that info so we can better assess your psychiatric situation.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Medication management is a level of outpatient treatment that involves the initial evaluation of the patient’s need for psychotropic medications, the provision of a prescription, and ongoing medical monitoring related to the patient’s use of the psychotropic medication by a qualified physician/prescriber. Medication management includes monitoring, reconciling medications, and ensuring patients get the desired outcomes. It requires a thorough review of prescribed drugs and their possible side effects to create treatment plans and monitor their safety and efficacy.
PSYCHOtherapy
Psychotherapy (also referred to as talk therapy) is a way to help people with a broad spectrum of mental health issues. With psychotherapy a person can learn coping skills necessary to deal with a variety of issues including trauma, loss of a loved one, and mental disorders, such as depression or anxiety. In some cases, medication may be more useful and in others psychotherapy may be the most prudent option. For a lot of people, a combination of medication and psychotherapy treatment is better than either alone.

TREATMENTS
Depression
Depression is a mental disorder characterized by persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest leading to a range of behavioral and physical symptoms, including changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behavior, or self-esteem. Depression can also be associated with thoughts of suicide.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder associated with episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs. The shift in mood can make it difficult to carry out daily tasks, and the episodes can last days to months at a time.
Anxiety
A mental health disorder characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities. Symptoms include stress that is out of proportion to the impact of the event, inability to set aside a worry, and restlessness.

The condition may last months or years, with triggers that can bring back memories (flashbacks) of the trauma accompanied by intense emotional and physical reactions.
